Cala Millor is a well established beach resort on Majorca’s rugged east coast. The resort is located close to mountains, farmland and orchards, and has what many people regard as one of the best beaches on the island. The resort has lots of very reasonable restaurants, don’t forget to try some of the great fish menus that these restaurants offer.

The gently shelving Cala Millor beach has fine sand and beautiful clear blue water making it the perfect choice for families with small children. This long beach has a lovely shaded seafront promenade which stretches for 4 miles along a sheltered bay between unspoilt headlands. The warm water temperatures are ideal for scuba diving, snorkelling, wind-surfing and sailing. There are plenty of other beaches which are easy reached from Cala Millor, including the nudist beach at Punta Amer. Travelling around Cala Millor is really easy using mini-trains and local buses.

Cala Millor offers much more than just the beach including watersports, golf at Sa Coma, tennis, go-karting and some lively nightlife. The whole family will love the Aquacity waterpark and Marineland in Portals Nous. During the day there is plenty for the whole family to do and in the evening there are discos, music bars and pubs for entertainment.

Exploring Cala Millor on foot is an easy. A leisurely stroll to the Punta Amer nature reserve on the headland is a must. Here you will find a 17th century watchtower where you can take in the wonderful views of Cala Millor Bay. Other easy walks include the Costa de los Pinos, the small port of Cala Bona around the headland to the north and the resorts of Sa Coma and S’Illot to the south of Punta Amer. Longer hikes along the coastal paths and in the mountains and gorges are best undertaken during the spring and early autumn when weather conditions are perfect for these longer walks.

Not to be missed is a visit to fascinating old town of Palma which has a wonderful Gothic cathedral. For a quiet relaxing day out visit the lovely fishing village of Cala Figures. There are lots of trips available from Cala Millor that the whole family will enjoy on their last minute holidays. Excursions include the African wildlife park, Drach Caves and the San Salvador monastery. For longer days out there is the Mondrago National Park and the town of Porto Cristo. Coastal tours take in places like Cala D’Or, Cala Santanyi and Cala Figuera.

Family holidays to Cala Millor are very popular and can be found throughout the internet.
