The historic choir stalls which were built in the 14th century were first restored by Antoni Gaudi in 1899-1901 and were originally painted by Gaudi’s assistant Josep Maria Jujol. Other parts of the cathedral which have been restored include the Santissim Chapel which was restored by the Mallorcan artist Miquel Barcelo and the 12 angels coated in gold which form part of the altar.

A visit to this magnificent cathedral is a must on your family holidays to the beautiful island of Majorca.

No matter how many times I visit the beautiful island of Majorca, I will never tire of visiting the amazing Cuevas Del Drach (Caves of Drach or Cavern of the Dragon). Visitors can take one of the group tours of the caves, discovering the spectacular stalactites and stalagmites along the

Caves of Drach

way. The tour route is about half a mile long with around 250 steps going up and down therefore I would recommend you wear comfortable and sensible shoes as the cave floor is also wet in places. The caves extend for nearly a mile and a half, with internal heights of over 80ft above the cave floor. There are so many holiday deals available to Majorca that there is no excuse to ‘miss out’ on visiting this beautiful island! Read more »
